Dahlias- the gem of Fall. These flowers are extraordinary! Uniform, sturdy, atop strong stems and absolutely stunning. Tubers planted in the early summer will reproduce, and by fall you will have 5-10 viable tubers to dig up and store overwinter for planting the next season. That’s 5-10 new plants. OR you can forgo the hassle, simply treat them as an annual, and buy new tubers the next season like you do all other annual flowers.
Tubers need to be preordered, please review both pages of photos, and list in the popup form which tubers you would like (this will pop up after you click add to cart). All tubers come with viable eyes. You will dig a hole, 6-8 inches deep and plant the tuber at the 6inch mark, with the 2 inches of loose soil below. You’ll plant the tuber horizontal with the eye facing upwards. Add bone meal for added nutrients. Get ready to be giddy with delight!
12 tubers for $50 feature's a Grower’s Choice box and will be a mix of those displayed here in the photos. I will also be sure to include at least one or two of our mystery tubers, those whose labels were lost in winter storage. These are some of our favorites to plant as we wait until bloom to see who they are! They will be one of our stunning 65 varieties.
Note: You may pay at pickup with cash if you prefer. Please place your order first so they can be ready for you. You may submit these orders by our contact form here.
You may also order our tea plants or cut flower plants online, or purchase by cash at the greenhouse. We have nigella (love in a mist), larkspur- mauve, lilac, blue colors, long stemmed cut flower snapdragons, Floret’s celosia- pink, spun sugar, and vintage varieties, peppermint stick and specialty zinnias, lemon balm, chamomile, echinacea, peppermint, anise hyssop and catnip.
